Why is it a good idea to have a Meal Plan or D.U. Dollars?
With a meal plan or D.U. Dollars, you can eat on campus without the inconvenience of carrying cash and save money! You also don’t lose your parking space while running out to grab a bite or have to worry about packing your lunch every day.
If I don’t use all my meals and plan points in a semester, do they carry over?
Meals/Plan Dollars do not carry over from semester to semester. It is important to select a meal plan based on your schedule and eating pattern.
Can I use one of my block meals for friends or family to eat in the Main Cafeteria?
Yes. However, each person you want to use a meal for must be present when the card is swiped.
What happens to my unused D.U. Dollars at the end of the semester?
D.U. Dollars can be added at anytime and for this reason they can be carried over between the fall and spring semester. For this reason, you want to make sure you exhaust your meal plan account before spending your D.U. Dollars.
When can I use Meal Plan Points to eat?
Meal plan points can be used any time the dining concepts are open. We suggest using meal plan points during the times when meal exchanges aren't available or when you would simply like to grab a small snack or beverage.
What do I do if my D.U. Dollars run low?
You can always purchase D.U. Dollars in increments of $25.00 at any time. Stop by Student Accounts to pick up a form.
Can I change my meal plan once the semester has begun?
Yes, but it must be done early. You have the option of changing your meal plan ONE time during the first two weeks of each semester. Forms can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if I lose my Dominican University ID card?
Should you lose your ID Card, report it immediately to Public Safety. Your old card will be deactivated and a new one will be issued for a fee. You must have your card to use your meal plan and only the proper owner of the card can use a meal.
